Abundantly Available Help

Psalm 46:1-3

"God is our Refuge and Strength, a very present help in trouble." This means that God is our "abundantly available help."

God is always there. He is for us when we are for Him. We can hide under the shadow of His wings and expect Him to help us when trouble comes. Prayer offered by faith in Jesus' Name goes all the way to His throne, finding the help and granting the grace that we need.

When the earth is moved or changed, perhaps by earthquakes or landslides changing the landscape, or by tsunamis or waves raging in the sea, God still helps His own!

The presence of the Lord shakes things. When attention is given to God's shakings, people are brought to God's refuge.

Here are a few examples of God's shakings:

*an earthquake at the crucifixion
*another earthquake after the resurrection when the angel moved the stone away from the tomb
*when Peter and the apostles prayed in Acts 4:31
*when Paul and Silas sang in the prison at Philippi and God shook the earth.

Is your world being changed and shaken? Call for His abundantly available help!

Perhaps the disciples actually prayed for God to shake things! I have wondered if, sometime during those ten days of prayer in the upper room, before Pentecost they may have prayed Isaiah 64:1: "LORD, rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at Thy presence."

God surely came down upon them in power, and He can do the same for us as we seek Him.
